    A few months ago we moved an FTM-400 planned for use in our storm shelter to an out building for use as an APRS Gateway/Digipeater.  The plan was to buy another FTM-400 next year. Then I saw this notice on another site just yesterday. I looked for some official statement from Yaesu to make a post here and could not find anything official, just those YouTube pieces. But seemingly true, what a disappointment. First Kenwood discontinued the TH-D74 series and now Yaesu discontinuing these; those are some big holes. I have had the sense for several years that the amateur radio manufacturers were coasting and not doing any innovation. Now my sense is that they are easing out of the business altogether. I hope that I am wrong, but this development is not a good one for the hobby…

    Who We Are

    Red River Valley Amateur Radio Club (RRVARC) is a licensed FCC radio operator (WB5RDD) and an affiliate of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) – The National Association for Amateur Radio®.

    Club members – hams – are persons interested in amateur radio operations and public service. The Club and its members participate in public service events such as the Tour de Paris, Field Day and educational activities, as well as during emergency preparedness activations.

    Non-Profit Organization

    The RRVARC is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization.

    Where We Meet

    The Red River Valley Amateur Radio Club meets at Paris Municipal Court (2910 Clarksville St, Paris, TX 75460) usually on the 4th Saturday of each month.

    Note: Special events like Field Day and some November and December meetings are excepted.  Check the events calendar for special location, dates and time.
