I wanted to follow up to the story above. Kathy and I took a Happy 100th Birthday card to our last Club meeting. It was addressed to World War II veteran Ethelyn Szad Bell of Bonham, Texas. At the meeting everyone in attendance signed it and then I put it into the mail at Main Trading. We can all smile knowing that we did our part. This Stars & Stripes article – Texas World War II veteran receives more than 7,200 cards on 100th birthday – and this KXII piece – Texoma veteran who asked for birthday cards celebrates 100th birthday – warmed our hearts. Thanks to everyone in our Club that played a part in brightening Ms. Bell’s day.
