Cellular Service Update — AT&T Users Reporting Possible Problems

    Updated: August 10, 2026 — 0703 CDT

Cellular network conditions continue to change following the service disruptions reported over the weekend. As of Monday morning, outage-monitoring service Downdetector indicates that Verizon and T-Mobile are no longer showing current widespread problems, while user reports indicate possible problems with AT&T.

As of 0703 CDT Monday, August 10, Downdetector is showing:

    • AT&T — User reports show possible problems
    • Verizon — No current problems reported
    • T-Mobile — No current problems reported

The current AT&T reports should be viewed as a developing situation. Downdetector is based largely on reports submitted by users, and an increase in those reports does not by itself establish that AT&T is experiencing a nationwide network outage.

At this time, there does not appear to be significant new national-media reporting confirming a widespread AT&T cellular outage Monday morning. AT&T customers experiencing problems can use the carrier’s official outage checker for information specific to their location.

    Weekend Verizon Outage Resolved

The latest reports follow Saturday’s Verizon service disruption, which primarily affected voice calls for wireless customers in portions of the United States.

Verizon acknowledged the problem Saturday afternoon and said engineers were working to resolve an issue affecting wireless voice services. Downdetector recorded more than 13,000 Verizon reports near the height of the incident.

Verizon announced Saturday evening that its engineers had resolved the problem and advised customers who were still experiencing difficulties to restart their devices. Current Downdetector information now shows Verizon without a widespread problem indication.

T-Mobile, which also received increased user reports during Saturday’s incident, said at the time that its own network was operating normally. Problems communicating with customers on another carrier can sometimes generate reports involving more than one cellular network.

    Current Network Status

    • AT&T: Downdetector AT&T Status
    • Verizon: Downdetector Verizon Status
    • T-Mobile: Downdetector T-Mobile Status

    Latest Media Coverage

    • TechRadar: Verizon voice services were down for some — here’s everything we know — detailed coverage of Saturday’s incident, including the rise to more than 13,000 Downdetector reports and Verizon’s subsequent announcement that the voice-service problem had been resolved.
    • WRAL: Verizon outage resolved after several customers unable to make phone calls — reports Verizon’s confirmation that the Saturday service disruption was resolved.

    Monitoring Continues

Cellular users should continue to watch for failed or dropped calls, intermittent mobile-data service, unsuccessful text messages, an “SOS” or “SOS Only” indication, or difficulty reaching customers using another wireless carrier.

Because cellular communications can be important during emergencies, amateur radio operators and emergency-communications volunteers may wish to remain aware of changing network conditions should a more significant disruption develop.

RRVARC will continue monitoring the situation and update this information if AT&T confirms a service disruption or additional significant carrier problems are reported.

Note: Downdetector relies largely on reports submitted by users. Elevated reports may indicate a developing or localized service problem, but they should not be considered confirmation of a nationwide outage without supporting information from the affected carrier or other authoritative sources.
