In my Drive to inspire Clubs in North Texas
To nominate someone from their community
for one of the many ARRL National awards

I will show case a few stats
of a recent nominee that won an award

The 2021 ARRL Herb S. Brier Award for Instructor of The Year was given
for the following specifics achievements

An ARRL Member for nearly 40 years, and an ARRL Registered Instructor
and a full-time faculty member at a Community College , where he’s
been the lead licensing course instructor for the past 11 years

ARRL sponsors this award in conjunction with the Lake County Indiana
Amateur Radio Club in Brier’s memory to recognize superior Amateur
Radio instruction and recruitment.

Club Officers and members, please step up and build a nominating
committee
to find such deserving amateurs within North Texas

There are Ten annual awards provided
North Texans deserve at least one National Award every year

My bet is if the club members spent 20 minutes they could find someone in the Red River Valley Amateur Radio Club
worthy of being nominated for at least one of the awards listed in the link above

If you look at those stats and say to yourselfs…..

We have no one that has been a Ham for fourty plus years AND is teaching full time at a community clollege
You might be right….

However, if you look at those stats and you say hmm we have some members that have been licensed over 40 years
and they are members of several non profit community organizations
and they are a consistant face at the VE Exams

Add the details and place them in the nomination form
Email it to the league and by the way send me a copy and I will Endorse it

Now, don’t stop there….
Find at least two members worthy of nominations for one of the awards each year

Or rest on your butt and forget about having someone in your club recogized
with a National award from the ARRL

or Maybe just very few members are even aware of the clubs website and the forums?
