      In case anyone is interested

As part of World Radio day

When: WARD (World Amateur Radio Day) is
Friday, April 18, 2025, at 0000 UTC until Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 0000 UTC
(Local Time that is Friday Night to Saturday Evening So call it a Saturday event <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>the 19th  of April)</span>
but the Ham Radio Open House can be held any time in April, as works best for your local club.
The ARRL has announced an initiative to get more Activity from Clubs

      https://www.arrl.org/news/clubs-are-gearing-up-for-arrl-ham-radio-open-house-yours-can-too

I am all for getting more of our fellow amateurs Radio Active
However, based on a glimpse of the Map they offer of activity
this “event” push by the league looks like a dismal failure
      https://www.arrl.org/open-house

However, that does not mean local amateurs can not find a station owner willing to embrace this…
As I will be glad to host an open house to fellow RRVARC members and their guests

Please just let me know if your interested
and if the club sees this as something fun to do as a group, that is welcome as well

However, I prefer not to “Build it” and no one show up
So feedback before April would be genuinely appreciated, if no interest I may be on the road some where else 🙂

Why was World Amateur Radio Day brought about…..
Why: World Amateur Radio Day, held on April 18 each year, is celebrated worldwide by radio amateurs and their national associations which are organized as member-societies of the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU). It was on this day in 1925 that the IARU was formed in Paris. American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Co-Founder Hiram Percy Maxim was its first president. A major theme for 2025 is celebrating 100 years of IARU.

      Why do I give a hoot…..
Because I love seeing fellow amateurs enjoy our hobby
If this one is not your cup of Tea, no issues and I will go fishing 🙂

      Cheers!
      Steve
