I spent a couple nights at Cooper Lake doing a POTA activation. I had a blast. I used my 7300 and an 10-40m efhw. I managed to make over 300 contacts while I was there, using SSB & FT8. Also, I made contact with every state, except one. Up yours West Virginia! lol.
Completing some Pota awards was the goal of this trip. I’ve activated the park 20 times and on 10 different bands. And, I’ve gone over 1,000 contacts. (hopefully the pota website will update with the pdf awards soon)
Luckily, I was in a cabin so the weather turning colder didn’t bother me. If anyone wants to plan a POTA let me know. It is my favorite thing to do.
