    All,

Kind of following up on the quote at the meeting last Saturday (10/25/2025), where a member said “There is often a nexus between guns, preppers and ham radio.” it occurred to Kathy and I that medical self-preparedness also falls into the same category.  Just like my 12/23/2023 post C-A-T® one-handed tourniquets and QuikClot Bleeding Control gauze (link here) was made in that line of thought, medical preparedness, a recent advertisement on Newsmax caught our eye.

Two prominent physicians, Drew Pinsky, MD (an internist) and Peter McCullough, MD (an internal medicine and cardiology specialist), are now affiliated with The Wellness Company.  They sell a “Medical Emergency Kit” which contains every kind of emergency medication a person might need in day-to-day living.  This kit has the prescription medications Amoxicillin-Clavulanate (generic Augmentin™) Azithromycin (generic Z-Pak™), Doxycycline Metronidazole (generic Flagy|™), Trimethoprim-Sulfamethoxazole (generic Bactrim™) Ivermectin (generic Stromectol™), Fluconazole (generic Diflucan™) and Ondansetron (generic Zofran™).  After a telehealth consultation this kit retails for $299.99.  Using the promo code NEWS secures a $45 discount, making the kit about $255.

It was already clear to me that having an open-minded friend who is a physician was something I wish I had, but I do not.  And even if I did, I rarely ask friends for favors.  Further, asking one to help me to stock a kit like this…that would be awkward.  Then during and following the great Covid scare I had my parents ask their general practitioner if either of them, with their various ailments; I asked them to ask him if Ivermectin and/or Hydroxychloroquine would be dangerous for them?  He was aghast at their question.  When my father followed up and asked how many of his Covid patients had perished he replied “Over 60.”  OK, call me what you wish, but if my doctor had lost over 60 patients and I was interested in trying something different, I would hope he might be “open-minded” as I previously said.

To anyone that wants to lecture me just imagine I am holding my hand up, palm out, in the universal “Spare me the lecture.” gesture.  Back to the gist of my post.

If you don’t have a family friend who is a licensed medical professional that will help you to put some supplies on the shelf, for about two hundred and fifty-five bucks this might appeal to you.  And yes, refills are available for up to two years.  Is $255 a lot of money?  Sure it is.  And this sort of thing will never be covered by your health insurance…but neither will another gun or ham radio.  LOL

I suggest you go and look at their site at this link The Wellness Company – Medical Emergency Kit and see what you think.  In addition to Pinsky and McCullough, they have lots of other doctors, from every background, participating.  Their profiles are here.  I personally think it is a very reasonable approach to being able to help yourself in a situation where you just can’t go to the doctor.

    All,

In follow up to the post above, it has come to my attention that another outfit called “Jase” has a pretty similar business model.  The medicine case even looks similar to the one offered by The Wellness Company.  In addition to the meds listed above, Jase will help you to stockpile things like your blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes and other medications.  Good luck getting your local doctor and pharmacy to help you to do that.

Call me unsurprised that Jase is located in Draper, UT, a bedroom community of Salt Lake City.  The Mormon church is very preparedness minded.  That Jase is right there makes sense to me.

If you are considering a home medical support kit I suggest that you check out the Jase website (http://www.jase.com).  Their other contact details are as follows:

    Address: 13648 S 200 W #1, Draper, UT 84020
    Support Email: answers@jase.com
    Phone: (888) 522-6912
Customer Support Hours*: 7-7 MT M-F, 10-4 MT Weekends

They have top-notch first aid kits and the list of prescription meds they offer looks to be superior to the ones from The Wellness Company, so please do your research.  I looked over their pricing and without going item by item and counting how many pills each basic kit includes, my impression is they both offer a similar product.  The Wellness Company has celebrity doctors.  Jase is endorsed by a bunch of conservative celebrity endorsers (Glenn Beck, Dan Bongino, Tucker Carlson, Ben Shapiro, Phil Roberts (Duck Dynasty)).
