I’ve been asked a few times “how did you get that list of 200 Plus ham names/call signs/addresses etc
So here goes
QRZ has a database that is “searchable” Web site qrz.com/db
The available search types are:By Callsign – search for a specific callsign. Can use * to search for prefixes or suffixes. For example, W1* finds all W1 calls. *XX finds all calls ending in XX
By Name/Address – Type in a name or part of a name, street, city, etc., to search the address records
In Biography – Type in one or more keywords to search all biography pages. For example, KENWOOD finds all bios that mention Kenwood. Upper/lower case is treated the same.
By County – Type in the name of a USA county
By Grid – Type in all or part of a Grid Square locator
By DXCC – Choose this option then hit Search to get a country list (non-USA only).
NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE ******County is NOT what you might think “Lamar County” matches all of the below (see text)
To so put in Lamar ONLY for the county and then select the “exact” match below
As you can see there are 260 people that QRZ thinks are in Lamar County
QRZ (I suspect) has an API connected database to the FCC which pulls FCC “valid” infoCounty list: 4 matches
Lamar, Alabama 69 matches
Lamar, Georgia 61 matches
Lamar, Mississippi 193 matches
Lamar, Texas 260 matches
Here is a snippet showing Mel and Wyndell
Page 1 of 7, of 260 matches for: Lamar County, TXK5KEY MELVIN E TOYE POWDERLY TX
K5WJF Wyndell J Ferguson Blossom TXIF you are Excel savvy you can easily take this data and put it into a spread sheet, Net Logger whatever.
***** Second way****
This one is a bit easier esp if you know or can guess the zip codehttps://www.radioqth.net/ziplookup
Call sign, name, expiration date, zip code
Nice thing is you can download it as text or as an excel file
FYI there are 17 zip codes in Lamar Cty and the surrounding ones
Very helpful links on left side i.e. Available Call signs, you can search for clubs,**** Third way*
Ask the ARRL
https://www.arrl.org/advanced-call-sign-search
Same sort of options are available there.
There is also a way to get even more info. Example
NOTE This is all public information.
Example
Bass, Ronald L, KF5AWN
