Greta Van Susteren The Record on NEWSMAX had a fascinating segment on today. Her reporting was on the topic of a possible nearly miracle screening breakthrough for pancreatic cancer. When I searched for it I found this May 2, 2026 article AI finds signs of pancreatic cancer before tumors develop. The subtitle is An artificial intelligence model from the Mayo Clinic detected abnormalities on scans up to three years before patients were diagnosed. It’s being evaluated in a clinical trial. I have had several family members and friends that have died from pancreatic cancer, so to me that is pretty exciting news.
From the article “‘This really could be a game changer for us for early detection,’ said Dr. Pam Hodul, a surgical oncologist at Moffitt Cancer Center.” and “AI has shown increasing promise as a diagnostic tool for a range of other conditions. In a study published this week in the journal Science, researchers found that AI either matched or outperformed human physicians at diagnosing emergency room patients.
I am very hopeful that AI developments in medicine could be something that extends life and improves the quality of that extended life. This and other recent developments are things doctors could only dream of just a few years ago.
