Whoops! On 12/9/2022 an alert tester working with me discovered that the Wall Street Journal free links were not working.  What we discovered was that WSJ provides free links for subscribers to share for SOME of their articles!  Not all of them.  I am going back and providing alternative links to my original posts.  There were three stories here, so thankfully the fix is small as I do want to leave them up for you rather than just deleting them.  My apologies for any confusion this created.  Kathy and I subscribe to the WSJ and I didn’t know there was a distinction where the shareable link for some pieces was for a free read and for others it was not. – Phillip

    All,

This Wall Street Journal article – Ignore the Scare Stories: Supplies of Christmas Trees Meet Demand (original link) (alternate link) – provides good analysis and reporting on a topic that I found fascinating.  I hope you will too.  Who knew about the “Agriculture Department’s 15-cent-a-tree fee that funds the Real Christmas Tree Board.”?  I sure didn’t.  The free link that the Wall Street Journal provides subscribers like Kathy and I gives us the opportunity to pass along a story that should add cheer to your Christmas spirit!  This is one of those stories that I had to circle back around to and see if I could find another link.  Some places pay a fee to carry stories by other source.  Yahoo News and MSN do it all the time, reposting stories from the New York Times and Wall Street Journal.  Thankfully I found one for this article.  It isn’t as clean as the original source, but you can still read it.  Hopefully this keeps me from getting hate mail from WSJ…

    Enjoy,

    Phillip
