For the animal lovers in our group, this – Lost tortoise in Texas travels 50 miles, spurs frantic four-county weeklong search for Hoss – is the best story I have read in a very long time.  It is on the Fort Worth Star-Telegram site and it is not behind a paywall.  You will have to click on some “X’s” in 2-3 boxes that will pop up asking if you want to subscribe.

Here is a hint – Hoss is a big tortoise.  He escaped and went on walkabout.  He was nearly run over crossing a highway.  A passerby stopped and picked him up and lots of love went into the search for him.  He is safely back home.  Now, go read the story.  LOL
