Red River Valley Amateur Radio Club
Amateur Radio in and around the Red River Valley Area of Northeast Texas
In case anyone is interested in NG or military radio listening….according to https://www.radioreference.com/db/aid/4580 the NG may be using a few frequencies in the Amateur Radio 2-meter band. Amateur Radio has Primary allocation in the 144-148 MHz frequency spectrum. This might make for some interesting simplex listening if they ever come into the area.
I did a search for possible Secondary allocations of one of those frequencies…..Here is what the computer spit out…
Secondary Allocations
According to the FCC Table of Frequency Allocations (47 CFR § 2.106), there is no other official secondary service allocation listed at 144.xxx MHz in the United States beyond the amateur service. The band is allocated primarily to amateur radio, and there aren’t other designated services in that exact frequency as a secondary allocation.
A small disclaimer here:
RadioReference.com is a community-submitted database of scanner frequencies — people contribute what they hear and what they think a frequency is used for. That means the “National Guard” tag on a frequency there isn’t an official FCC determination — it’s what a contributor labeled it, often based on listening or local knowledge.
Red River Valley Amateur Radio Club (RRVARC) is a licensed FCC radio operator (WB5RDD) and an affiliate of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) – The National Association for Amateur Radio®.
Club members – hams – are persons interested in amateur radio operations and public service. The Club and its members participate in public service events such as the Tour de Paris, Field Day and educational activities, as well as during emergency preparedness activations.
The RRVARC is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization.
The Red River Valley Amateur Radio Club meets at Paris Municipal Court (2910 Clarksville St, Paris, TX 75460) usually on the 4th Saturday of each month.
Note: Special events like Field Day and some November and December meetings are excepted. Check the events calendar for special location, dates and time.
