Join me tonight for the RRVARC Information Net. I will be net control, and I’m on a mission to find out if you are on the naughty or nice list. Ha. I do want to know what piece of ham radio gear you are hoping to receive for Christmas. I hope you can join me and I look forward to hearing you check in!

Here is an early access version of today’s newsletter:
It was great seeing everyone at the Christmas party. I had a lot of fun and hope you did too. I want to say congratulations to the club award winners. You guys are well deserving of recognition this year. The Distinguished Service Award went to T. Wayne Moore KC5KOH, for his service as past president. Mel Toye K5KEY and Randy Holland N5DDS received the Meritorious Service Award for their work in the EOC during the Tour de Paris. Our Club Member of the Year 2024 is Dan Beard KB7JZI for all his contributions to the club this year. He is our Vice President, District EC, and lead VE. Thank you all, you make our club the best around.
Last Tuesday’s fox hunt was a tricky one. Jerry WA5KZA ran a scenario where the repeater was being interfered with by a stuck transmitter. He then put the beacon on his tower, making it little tougher to get a pinpoint reading on it as you get closer. As always, it was a lot of fun. Please let us know if you would like to join in on the next one. It is scheduled for January 14th. Be listening to the Monday night nets and checking the forums for more info.
Join me tonight at 7pm for the RRVARC Information Net. I will be net control for the evening and look forward to hearing everyone check in. I want to know if you are on the naughty or nice list, and if you plan on getting anything ham radio related for Christmas. I hope you can join us, it should be a lot of fun.
The next big event is Winter Field Day on January 25th & 26th. We will be at Cooper Lake State Park Doctors Creek Unit. If you are curious about a field day event, this would be a good one to come to. The temperature is definitely cooler, and the pace is a bit slower. If you want to know more, check out our forums or contact me by phone, text, or email.
Our January meeting is January 25th at 10am at High Cotton Kitchen. That is the same weekend as WFD, so some of us will be at that event and some of us will do both. I’ll get the topic locked in soon and will let you know in a future announcement.
I hope everyone has a good week and a Merry Christmas!
