    All,

I woke up at 0330 this morning to a message from Kathy wondering if the MyRadar post about Oklahoma Senate Bill 158 House Bill 2426 might be of interest to the group.  After watching the video (link here) and doing a little bit of reading, I sure do think it might interest many of you.  In a nutshell, OK is looking to regulate storm chasing and it appears the legislation unfairly gives some advantages to legacy local TV providers at the expense of everyone else involved in storm chasing.  You can watch the video (10:08 in length) and read up on it (more info at this link) and make up your own mind.  But if OK leads the way on this KS and TX might do something similar, so I think the storm chasing community is right to be up in arms.

Just a guess on my part……

The originator of this Bill had good intentions,
by limiting the number of “Storm chasers” that are causing risks to fellow motorist near them.

Making this Bill Law may bring some limits to those just wanting to serve the public,
this would of course be a bad thing if it inhibited any early warning that could be afforded to citizens.

Many of us have seen live feeds where the operator of the Storm Chasing vehicle
was not focused enough on operating their vehicle safely.

    Just my opinion.

    Cheers!
