It’s time to make our plans for TX State Parks on the Air April 17th-19th.
Cooper Lake State Park has cabins available on the South Sulphur Unit for $125 a night. This are a little nicer cabins with there own bathroom and a living room.
Lake Bob Sandlin has 2 cabins available, at the moment. If we want to go there we’ll need to it quick. Click the link and look at the facilities, and let me know as soon as possible.

Last year we worked TX Pota from Lake Bob Sandlin. We placed 4th in the Multi OP Multi Transmitter category. Band conditions were rough, but we had a good time. Hopefully this year they will be better.

Cindy can’t get off work for this TX POTA. There 4 beds in the cabin so if anyone wants to come out and stay overnight to operate Friday and/or Saturday nights please let me know.
I plan to operate mostly digital and maybe some voice with my “Blue Box” IC-705 setup.
Cindy was going to operate with her IC-7300 so I can set that radio/antenna up or you can bring your own.

The weekend is complete. I had a fun time at the cabin making contacts. I ran 80m ft8. The band conditions weren’t great for voice on Saturday, but we powered through. We ended up with 464 contacts, and we’ll wait to see our final score and placement in a few months. I’m already looking forward to Field Day. 73.
