    All,

I do not want to take away from Steven Lott Smith’s (KG5VK) post – The ARRL will convene a significant Board of Director meeting soon. – ALL ARRL members need to follow his lead and contact ARRL leadership, but I did want to pass along a news piece that I found educational and entertaining.  It is from November – These People Are Responsible for the Cranberry Sauce You Love to Hate – and I didn’t want it to get stale.  This is one of the Wall Street Journal articles that has a “gift” link.

I open news tabs in Firefox, probably fifteen of them, and then I open additional tabs from each of those “parent” news sites.  On an average day I probably open 15-20 stories and then I close each of the “parent” tabs once I have scanned down the page opening articles that look promising.  Then, I harmonize my laptop and phone and I read the news as I have a chance.  Breaking news like plane crashes get read immediately, but some like this story?  They get relegated to a tab that may or may not ever rise to the top.  Ever.  Today I had 1300 tabs open and decided to start pecking away at them.  From the headline I thought this story might still be worth reading and I was not disappointed.

Cranberries and cranberry sauce, I hardly give it a thought except for November and December.  But I guarantee you, my family is passionate about it and our favorite, hands down, is the stuff in a can, no seeds, no berries, just the jelly in a can and it has to be served cold out of the refrigerator.  LOL  You may be the exact opposite and want the stuff with berries in it.  Nonetheless, did you know that Ocean Spray is a cooperative founded over a hundred years ago?  Owned by family farms and farmers?  I didn’t, so I found it a quick but fascinating read.  I think you will too.

    Enjoy,

    Phillip
