Red River Valley Amateur Radio Club
Amateur Radio in and around the Red River Valley Area of Northeast Texas
All,
How many of you were annoyed when Apple eliminated the home button? I know, you got used to it. Me too. Now, how many of you have noticed the change in vehicles? You have to look at a screen to change anything. Want the defogger on? Touch screen. Want a seat heater on? Touch screen. So, if you are looking at that screen, what are you not looking at? The road. Bad, bad, bad idea. This article – Touch Screens Are Over. Even Apple Is Bringing Back Buttons. – gives me hope that some of this nonsense is going to start driving a movement back to “tactile” controls. I want to be able to do some things by feel and in the dark. Or with my eyes closed. I suspect you do too.
The link above is one the Wall Street Journal provides to subscribers to gift articles. If you have any problems opening it, please let me know.
Enjoy,
Phillip Beall (W5EBC)
