Upcoming Dayton Hamvention 2026 – The World’s Largest Ham Radio Gathering!
Mark your calendars! The 2026 Dayton Hamvention takes place May 15–17, 2026, at the Greene County Fairgrounds & Expo Center in Xenia, Ohio.
This year’s theme is “Radio Adventure” — celebrating the spirit of exploration in technologies, distances, ideas, and citizen science that amateur radio offers. Expect the usual huge flea market, hundreds of exhibitors with the latest gear, dozens of technical forums, prize drawings, and plenty of opportunities to meet fellow hams from around the world.
Key Details:
– Hours: Friday & Saturday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Sunday 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
– General Admission: $30 (one ticket good for all three days)
– Youth and student opportunities are expanded this year, including the ARRL Youth Rally.Whether you’re hunting for rare gear, learning about new digital modes, satellites, or EmComm, or just soaking in the atmosphere, Hamvention is always worth the trip.

We all know at least two guys driving to Xenia, OH, for the Dayton Hamvention. I won’t mention their names for OPSEC (in case nobody is tending their homes), but I do have the mental image of this driving scene from Wayne’s world:

I am going to see if I can embed a live APRS map, centered on the Greene County Fairgrounds/Expo Center in Xenia, OH, zoomed out to like 200 miles. If it works as I hope it will we will get a window showing the APRS beacons streaming to the Dayton Hamvention. Fingers crossed!
