    • Automotive Tissue Rejection We bought the car ten years ago. We bought it used. (There’s no way on God’s green earth I would have paid for a new one. new Volvos are dire!) The original owner purchased it in the Dallas Ft. Worth area, and that’s where it spent the first half of it’s life. It had never been w...

    • Never Forget The Prime Rule About Computers (A bit of nonsense.) A cautionary tale. It was just after sundown on a Friday night. It was coming into a long weekend, but the report needed to be on the boss's desk tonight. No one knew exactly why, that's just the way it was. Blaming it on an over-inflated administrative ego wouldn't have been to...

    • Tower Climber List All, I am going to start a list of tower climbers.  I periodically get asked if I know of one so I figured we may as well start up a list.  I am not warranting that they will do a job for you, vouching for them in any way as far as their reliability, etc.  This is just a list....

    • The AR for Home Defense: One Expert’s Choice All, Since this is the General Ragchew area I am going to add something a little unorthodox.  Through the years I have had a lot of people ask me what is the best "defensive" firearm.  My standard reply is the one that is with you.  It doesn't do you any good if you are here, ha...

    • Old Stuff; Still Works I guess it's all part of a habitual spring cleaning thing. It may also just be something old farts who can't afford to always buy new stuff do. We had a name for it back then, it was called regular preventative maintenance. It's not a terribly popular activity these days because ...
