Poomudick: A completely natural coating deposited on home-farm raised eggs, generally considered to help build immune systems.
It typically consists of varying concentrations of “poo,” “mud” and “ick.”
Advised Best Practices:
- Understand where eggs come from, and how they are produced, and if any part of that production and supply chain makes you squeamish … eat cereal.
- Understand the anatomy and habits of the chickens which produce eggs. Chickens are not vegetarians. They are omnivores. They need protein. Vegetarian chickens produce nutrition deficient eggs.
- Chickens deposit a “bloom” on the surface of the eggs which help preserve them. If and when you wash the eggs, you lose this bloom.
- All store-bought eggs have already been washed, and the bloom is therefore missing. They will not last long after that.
- Fresh eggs may be room temperature shelf-stable for up to 5 weeks if you do not wash them. Yes, they can look seriously ugly, but the bloom protects them anyway.
- Once refrigerated, eggs must remain refrigerated. Refrigeration shortens their shelf life.
- If there is any question about the age of the eggs you have or buy, float your eggs. If they enthusiastically bob to the surface, discard them intact. If they lazily float, eat them very soon.
- Either with home farmed or store bought eggs, wash them in running water immediately before you use them. The salmonella is on the outside, not the inside. Bloom protects the internals. Removed bloom cannot.
- The weaker you allow your immune system to become, the more *any* food source (containing any remaining useful nutrition) is a risk. There is truth in the saying, “that which does not kill you, makes you stronger.” Exceptions to that rule are projectiles, energetic materials, ionizing radiation … and Glyphosate(s) (RoundUp).
- Keep your supply chains short. Support your local small farms and ranches.
- Eat smart. Processed carbs and sugars are not your friend. They never have been.

Table displays nominally at typical window widths, however with lateral resizing, the table will not resize with the window, and does not present a lateral scroll bar to assist with navigation.
Whether that is client-side or server side is anybody’s guess. That said, it should be OS/browser agnostic. And that said, this could easily be a corner/pocket case.
Call me overly pragmatic and horribly old-school, but for home defense, I’ve always liked the fire-and-forget factor of a fully fueled and operational fur-missile. In lieu of/in addition to one of those, I would rather stick to whatever is available and has the most deeply ingrained muscle memory.
FYI: If the room goes dark, you hear the loud bang, and see the bright blue flash through the window at exactly the same time … yeah, it was probably your line — and your tree.
Note to self: Remember to cut ALL the branches which may overhang the bloody power lines …

Nay! Even though they be old, worn to woof, stunted and slow, I shall never surrender any innocent CPU who has well served to the vile wickedness of The Self-Styled Great god Google (unless absolutely unavoidable)! If a man be of faint honor and the slightest of good sense he doth not consign even the marginally innocent unto the miden heap of the Evil One. T’would be better to sling them unloved into the dank lair of the Slathering Beast From Redmond! One just dasn’t do such deeds.
Even tho worn to woof and wear, even the most modest of devices (all the way back to i686 32 bit vintage) can be revived and reassigned duty (to a creditable standard) by numerous itterations and distributions of the universal workhorse of the internet — Linux!
Sadly, far too many brain-locked computer owners knee-jerk and squeal in horror thence flip their skirts over their heads at the mere casual mention of the stupendous power of the Mighty Torvalds Penguin. Such ’tis to their loss, indeed it is.
Yet, for those brave of heart, I recommend the following happy jaunt through … the possibilities.
Fedora (my personal fav.)
Linux Mint (close second)
PCLinuxOS (Ayup. made right here in Texas)
Debian (the raw source of sooooo many distros)
Ubuntu (BOOOOO! Hiiiisssss! Ubuntu is Swahili for, “I’m too scared to install real Linux!”)
Arch Linux (Not for the faint of heart. Bring your courage and entire tool box … and a good hot-wrench.)
Puppy Linux (This fits on a thumb drive and would probably even run well on a TV remote.)
And if you absolutely itch to spend money on your OS … the King Of The Distros! (Insert droll drum roll and blasé fanfare here.) The Mighty RedHat Enterprise Linux 10! (Still in Beta, but RHEL 9 is proven and still supported)
If any shalt thus read and wouldst be wont to know, I will so then do a quick run-thru of Distros, Desktop Environments and assorted installable eye-candy goodies.
But, always beware the hideous Beast From Redmond and the cloying Cancer Of Cupertino. They be evil too!

If it is as heinously sketchy as all that, perhaps revisiting and rethinking both the EOC HF (80/40m) antennas is in order. I’m absolutely open to suggestions. I would imagine Haskell is too.
By way of explanation, my preference and choice of this style and build was based mostly on real-world personal experience with both performance and durability. That said, I readily admit some investment bias. Previously, they couldn’t keep the existing G5RV in the air, (due to breakage) it’s thrice busted deceased body is currently laying on top of the roof, unloved and unremoved. Why the Dubb-Buzz choice for replacement? That’s as simple as it is pragmatic. What it eventually boiled down to was, whomever was actually willing to step up, climb up and get the bloody thing (HF antenna) hung and going again, kinda got to do the pickin’ and choosin’. So I pickeded and chooseded.
A high-dollar store-bought job is probably a better idea in that environment anyway. When it eventually craters out, there might be a warranty left to offset the reinvestment cost. Hanging it, however, is a different story. I’ve been up to that roof line hanging the current DB, and don’t particularly fancy a return trip. I’ll go up once more to retrieve this one, but that’s it. Most of it (by design and execution) can be removed or replaced from the ground. Colour me lazy. (It went up and on-line about an hour before The Great Eclipse Darkening.) A commercial antenna, though, surely deserves a nice whiz-bang professional (read: expensive) installation job. I’d imagine Randy would also absolutely prefer somebody with significant insurance coverage.
That being said, when the next-best-better-idea comes on line … I’ll happily accept the return of the parts of the one which is up there now. I’ve got a healthy chunk of change invested in it, (custom cut LMR-400 ain’t flippin’ cheap) and can use the assorted pieces and parts at home. Regardless of what that guy in the link thinks, I’m gonna keep my dubble-bubble collection anyway.
So … by way of a higher-performance replacement recommendation … whatcha got?
