The Benefits of Membership

The Red River Valley Amateur Radio Club (RRVARC) has a monthly meeting which is increasingly geared toward education about operationally oriented use of your equipment.  That includes your radios if you need help.

Additionally:

  • Frequent updates on news and topics of interest to local hams.

  • Access to details on training and testing options and helpful Club members willing to assist you with achieving your goals with amateur radio.

  • Planned activities such as participation in ARRL Field Day, Winter Field Day, Tour de Paris, caravans to hamfests in other areas and an annual Christmas party that is a total blast!

Members Only Content

  • Access to a bulletin board/user forum for information exchange, support and second-hand sales of gear.  Read and search is available to all, but only Club members may post.

  • Member directory – contact information for other members of the Club.

  • Extensive library of radio manuals.  Need an obscure programming manual?  We may have it but you can only get access to it by being a Club member.

  • Updated “Unofficial” Call Sign List of locally active hams.  Something started as a convenience that has become a popular piece for members of the Club.  No having to go to QRZ.  You can instead just look at the frequently updated list, in PDF format, sorted by call sign to ease looking up the call that you just heard.  You can save to your phone, print out and throw into the car, whatever…but only if you are a Club member.

  • Due to our IRS 501(c) 3 designation we have access to an occasional cellular hot spot allotment at very low cost.  Mobile means you can take it wherever you need to operate.  When they come available we make the offerings known to members of the Club.

  • Planned future benefit – A “branded” email address using your call sign (e.g. your_call_sign@rrvarc.org).
